Hawaii (in progress)

If you're visiting Hawaii, we'd recommend visiting one or two islands. More than that, and you'll likely spend too much time travelling. On our trip, we split our time between Maui and Oahu with taking a short, cheap flight to island hop. We'd like to go again and visit the Big Island (Island of Hawai'i) and Kauai.

We're not huge beach people. As in, we think many beaches are beautiful but getting in the water or laying out on the beach aren't quite our speed. With that in mind, we went to Hawaii in January andd we're able to find cheap flights and enjoy less crowded attractions. (Don't get us wrong, there were still plenty of tourists.)

Maui was our favorite as it's the more remote of the two. Oahu, and Honolulu in particular, often feel like being in any big U.S. city and are lacking island charm and the laid back feel of "island time". Check out each page for more details.

Airport hotel (typically avoid, but music, location, rent car for less days)

Airport hotels are rarely anyone's first pick, but they have their place. IN this case, the _____ airport is not far away from civilization, so the hotel was still near grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Additionally, this hotel had great service, features a pool & hot tub, and had live entertainment some nights.
